Agreement

Welcome to Rapid Reference. These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and ICU Advantage LLC ("ICU Advantage," "we," "us," or "our"), an Arizona limited liability company. By creating an account, purchasing a subscription, or otherwise using the Rapid Reference mobile app or rapidreference.app (together, the "Service"), you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

Who can use the service

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction. If you're using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

Medical disclaimer

Important — please read

Rapid Reference is a clinical reference and educational tool for critical care nurses and other licensed healthcare professionals. It is intended as a quick reminder of information you have learned in your training and continuing education — to supplement, not substitute the knowledge and judgment of a qualified clinician. It is not prepared, designed, or intended for use by patients or consumers; if you are not a healthcare professional, please consult a qualified provider directly or seek emergency care for any health concern.

Rapid Reference is not medical advice and is not engaged in the practice of medicine. It does not provide patient-specific recommendations, diagnoses, or treatment plans, and it is not a replacement for the policies, protocols, and standards of care at your institution, the laws and regulations of your licensing governing body, or the orders of a qualified prescribing provider. Content reflects general best practices and published literature, but every patient is different — you are responsible for your clinical decisions.

Always independently verify dosing, calculations, drug labeling, contraindications, and protocols against your institution's current guidelines and the attending provider's orders before acting at the bedside. If you believe a piece of information in the app is wrong or outdated, please use the in-app feedback button or email [email protected] so we can review it.

Your account

To use the app, you'll need an account. You agree to provide accurate information when you sign up and to keep it current. You're responsible for keeping your password secure and for all activity that happens under your account. Let us know right away if you suspect unauthorized access.

You may use the app on up to two devices per account (e.g. a phone and a tablet). If you need additional devices, contact us.

Subscriptions and billing

7-day free trial

New sign-ups receive a 7-day free trial of the full Rapid Reference experience — no feature gating, no watered-down version. You'll be asked for a payment method at the start of the trial; you won't be charged during the trial, and you can cancel anytime before it ends.

Paid subscription

If you don't cancel before your trial ends, your subscription will automatically begin and your payment method will be charged:

  • Monthly: $15 per month, billed monthly and renewing automatically until canceled.
  • Annual: $129 per year, billed annually and renewing automatically until canceled.

All prices are in US dollars and are exclusive of any taxes that may apply in your jurisdiction. We may change prices from time to time; if we do, you'll get at least 30 days' notice before a price change affects your subscription.

Cancellation

You can cancel your subscription anytime. Where you manage it depends on where you subscribed:

  • App Store or Google Play subscriptions — manage or cancel in your device settings (iOS: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions; Android: Play Store → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions).
  • Web subscriptions (via rapidreference.app) — manage from your account page in the app, or email [email protected] and we'll process the cancellation for you.

Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period; you'll keep access until then.

How billing works

You can subscribe in one of two ways, and your payment is handled accordingly:

  • Through the mobile app — subscription purchases and renewals are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play, depending on your device. Their terms, refund policies, and subscription-management interfaces apply to those transactions.
  • Directly from our website — subscription purchases made at rapidreference.app are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.

In both cases, we use RevenueCat to keep your subscription status and access in sync across your devices, regardless of where you subscribed. Presale purchases made before launch were processed directly by Stripe.

Lifetime access (presale)

If you purchased during one of our presale windows (ICU Advantage Academy Exclusive or Early Bird), your purchase grants you lifetime access to the Rapid Reference app — meaning you will not be charged any recurring subscription fee for as long as we operate the Service. Lifetime access covers the individual account tied to the email you used at checkout and is non-transferable. Lifetime access is unavailable after our launch date; it will not be offered as a tier post-launch.

"Lifetime" means as long as ICU Advantage continues to operate Rapid Reference. In the unlikely event we wind the Service down, we'll give lifetime subscribers reasonable notice and provide a way to export bookmarks and any personal content.

Refund policy

  • Presale purchases before launch: full refund anytime before launch, no questions asked. Email us at [email protected].
  • Subscription purchases after launch: we honor a 7-day money-back guarantee on your first paid billing period (monthly or annual). After the 7 days, subscription purchases follow the app store's standard refund rules (which we don't control).
  • Renewals — Apple App Store or Google Play subscriptions: once a renewal has processed, we can't refund it directly — you'll need to request the refund through Apple or Google. You can still cancel future renewals anytime from your device settings.
  • Renewals — direct web subscriptions: if you subscribed on our website and a renewal just processed, email [email protected] and we can process a refund of the most recent renewal at our discretion. You can cancel future renewals anytime from your account page or by replying to any billing email.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Share your account credentials or use someone else's.
  • Scrape, bulk-download, or systematically extract the app's content.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive the source code of the app.
  • Use the app in any way that violates applicable law or the rights of others.
  • Resell, redistribute, or commercialize the app's content without our written permission.
  • Attempt to probe, scan, or disrupt the Service's infrastructure.

Your feedback and content

When you submit feedback, bug reports, screenshots, or suggestions through the app or via email, you grant us a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free license to use that content to operate and improve Rapid Reference. We'll never publish your feedback in a way that identifies you personally without your permission.

If you choose to be credited as a beta tester in the app's credits section, we'll display only the name or handle you explicitly provided for that purpose.

Our content and intellectual property

Rapid Reference, the "ICU Advantage" name and logo, our brain icon, and all content we create and distribute through the app (including topic content, calculators, rapid-reference summaries, drug references, and rating scales) are owned by ICU Advantage LLC or our licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

Your subscription (or lifetime access) grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for your own professional and educational purposes. It doesn't transfer ownership of anything.

Suspension and termination

You can close your account anytime by emailing us at [email protected]. We can suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, if we're required to by law, or if the Service is being misused in a way that harms other users. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (like disclaimers, limitations of liability, governing law) will survive.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including (without limitation) warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation. We don't warrant that the Service will meet your requirements, that content is free of errors, or that defects will be corrected. Any reliance you place on the content is strictly at your own risk — see the medical disclaimer above.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ICU Advantage LLC, its owners, employees, and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages (including loss of profits, data, goodwill, or professional opportunity) arising out of or related to your use of the Service, whether based in contract, tort, strict liability, or otherwise, even if we've been advised of the possibility of such damages.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total cumulative liability to you for any and all claims relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) $100 USD.

Some jurisdictions don't allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of liability for certain damages, so some of the above may not apply to you.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ICU Advantage LLC, its owners, employees, and contractors from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party right.

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. You and we agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Maricopa County, Arizona, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there. If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the rest remain in effect.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect when we last made changes. For material changes, we'll give you reasonable notice (by email or an in-app notice). If you keep using the Service after the update takes effect, you're agreeing to the updated Terms.
